We celebrated 200 years of train travel in style with our special trip to Great Yarmouth in conjunction with the 125 Group in 2025. We have now opened our 2026 tour for bookings - the Retro Cestrian Bard - Class 37s to Stratford-upon-Avon. Retro Railtours have been operating day trip charter trains to a wide variety of Great British destinations since 2008. For nearly two decades, we have travelled to all parts of the Great British rail network, visiting seaside resorts, cities and special events. Past destinations include The Lake District, Edinburgh (for the Edinburgh Festival), Southend (for Southend Airshow), Canterbury and Bath Spa. We use classic British Rail carriages, with padded seats and full buffet facilities - which are all too often missing from modern service trains. Our aim is to take you back to the Golden Age of rail travel, where you enjoy the journey as much as the destination!
