The Retro Bath Centurion & Retro Salisbury Cathedral Belle
Update (16 May): tickets will be dispatched by the end of the week, and should be with passengers by early next week. Please call us if you haven't received your tickets by Wednesday 23rd May. For anyone intending to book, please note we have very limited availablity of standard class seats, with very few seats together, mainly single seats. We still have some availability in First Class. Due to demand, we've put an extra First Class carriage on, so now have some spare First Class seats.
Join us this May on our train to two South West cities. Our trip will give you the opportunity to visit either the historic Roman city of Bath or the splendid cathedral city of Salisbury.
If you opt to alight at Bath, you will find the station is but a stone’s throw from the city centre, known for its Roman springs and Georgian architecture. Bath Abbey is another noted attraction, famous for its fan-vaulting, impressive tower and large stained-glass windows. The Roman Baths are a must-see destination, including The Great Bath, statues and a temple. You will have around 5 hours to explore Bath.
You can stay on the train, and continue a further 40 miles to the medieval city of Salisbury. The city is famous for its cathedral, which boasts the tallest spire in England.
Often called ‘The city in the countryside’, Salisbury is a fantastic city to explore. It is also one of the few cities to retain a copy of the Magna Carta. You call stroll along the historic alleyways, past charming half-timbered buildings and of course sample some of its many traditional inns!
We have requested a pair of Direct Rail Services (DRS) Class 37s to haul this tour.
Our famous "Real Ale" bar is available, serving hand-pumped ales from Greenfield Brewery as well as hot & cold snacks. In addition a trolley service will be available in both First and Standard class.
These traditional, comfy British Rail coaches are ideal for a day out. Seating in standard class are arranged in bays of four, the majority with tables.
If you want a little extra luxury, First class is perfect. The coaches feature spacious, well padded seats, and will make your trip that bit more special!
The 'table for two' supplement is now sold out, but please call us if you wish to be added to the waiting list.
This includes a First Class seat, breakfast and a 3-course evening meal.
Also there will be an at-seat service providing a couple of rounds of complimentary tea and coffee during the journey.
We can be flexible with requirements for children, any special requests or dietary needs. Please call us to enquire.
